A lot of characters in video games live on chaos, like these most chaotic ones.
People can think of a lot of different things when they hear the word chaos. Just by definition, something that is chaotic is totally out of order. Depending on how a character is aligned, chaos means something different. The alignment of a character in most fantasy RPGs, like D&D, is based on their morals and ethics.
Based on alignment, a chaotic character is one who values freedom more than most other things and doesn’t like to work under any kind of established control. A chaotic person isn’t necessarily a bad person, but they are thought to be reckless and irresponsible. However, they can change quickly and aren’t stuck in their ways of thinking.
Juri – Chaotic Evil
Juri Han first showed up in Super Street Fighter 4, and ever since then, she has been a great example of a chaotically bad character. She is a cruel and brutal fighter who likes to hurt her opponents. Her desire to fight comes from wanting to get back at M. Bison, and she will do anything to get what she wants.
She has a short fuse and gets angry easily when things don’t go her way. Even though she has done and is able to do bad things, Juri has fought with and even saved some of the good characters. She hates M.Bison and Vega, and even though she has helped Cammy and Chun Li, she still likes to make them mad.
Travis Touchdown – Chaotic Good
Not every good or great character lived a good life or is a shining example of being nice. Sometimes they can be rude or do things that go against the way things are. But a chaotic good character is different from a chaotic bad character because they are good at heart. They just have a lot of freedom of spirit. And Travis Touchdown fits in with this group. He is the main character in the No More Heroes series, but he is pretty rude and young.
He is also a killer, and it seems pretty selfish that he joined the United Assassins Association and killed most of the top-ranked killers. Even though Travis fights for trivial reasons, he has a moral code that he follows. He doesn’t kill Shinobu, and he has respect and pride for people he thinks are “true warriors.” And in the end, he promises to stop the UAA and get revenge for everyone who died because of them.
Rouge The Bat – Chaotic Neutral
Most of the time, someone who is unstable neutral is only looking out for themselves and what they want. They don’t mean to be bad when they call them chaotic evil, but they don’t always look out for everyone’s best interests. This is a good way to describe Rouge the Bat. Rouge wants to steal the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds because she likes jewels and is a thief. This puts her at odds with the heroes, especially Knuckles.
She will lie and use her charm to get what she wants, but she has her own morals and has shown in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic Battle that she cares about others, especially Shadow the Hedgehog.
The Joker – Chaotic Evil
The Joker might be the perfect example of what it means to be truly crazy. He is a supervillain who kills people and has a dark and twisted sense of humor. He doesn’t care about anyone and isn’t faithful to anyone. He does terrible things for his own pleasure and to boost his ego. In the Batman Arkham series, he is one of the main bad guys, and all of his plans are meant to cause as much chaos, damage, and death as possible.
He is crazy about Batman and wants to hurt him and destroy everything he stands for. In the Arkham series, he becomes the most famous and dangerous supervillain in Gotham. In fact, crime goes down a lot when he isn’t there.
Doom Slayer – Chaotic Good
The main character in all of the Doom games is Doom Slayer. If you didn’t know what the games were about, you might think he was bad because his name was Doom Slayer or Doom Guy. He isn’t, but he is a great example of a good character who is chaotic. He is the worst nightmare for all demons, and he kills any demons that get in his way. However, he doesn’t hurt people in any way.
His whole goal is to save people from Hell’s monsters. During the first Doom, he beat up a commanding officer who wanted him to shoot into a crowd of unarmed citizens and Samuel Hayden because of his plans to mine Hell for energy, which cost many people their lives.
Goose From Untitled Goose Game – Chaotic Neutral
When it came out, the Untitled Goose Game made a lot of noise because people loved playing as a goose that caused trouble in a small English town. Players had to figure out how to solve different problems by using different things in Backrooms Game world. Even though it had to steal things and even chase a child into a phone booth, the goose didn’t really have bad goals, but it didn’t have good ones either.
At most, the goose’s activities were annoying and made it a little harder for the villagers to have a normal day. So, the goose from the Untitled Goose Game is the best example of a chaotic neutral character.
