His father is popular Manchester entertainer Vince Miller.
Known as ‘king of comperes’ he was the VIP host at Manchester United for 29 years.
Manchester City fan Vince was a popular figure at the Theatre of Dreams and counted former manager Sir Alex Ferguson among his friends.
He would interview Sir Alex and other United legends on matchdays for fans enjoying corporate hospitality.
The singer and comedian worked with Johnny Mathis, Shirley Bassey, and gave the eulogy at comedian Bernard Manning’s funeral.
In March 2017 Vince, from Stockport, hit the headlines when he was forced out of his role as a VIP host after putting his arm around a waitress and calling her “love”.
It led to a huge outpouring from the public, friends and former players in support of him.
In May that year he announced his retirement, at the age of 82 and after an incredible 65 years in the entertainment business, at a glittering charity fundraiser organised by his actor son.
He revealed the news on stage at the Once Upon A Smile charity ball at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
He said: “It’s been a great journey, I’ve been critical of people who go on too long, so last night was my last night hosting an event, it was an emotional brilliant night and it’s nice to know that you’re appreciated.”
Danny paid tribute to his dad, calling him “the best host in the business”
Vince told the M.E.N. that it was the right time to call an end to a showbiz career that first started as a singer in a band at the age of just 16.
