Edgar Berlanga defeated Alexis Angulo on Saturday by unanimous conclusion to stay unbeaten in the key event of a Top rated Rank card at the Hulu Theater within Madison Sq. Garden in New York, but the fight will be remembered for a distinctive explanation.
In Round 7, Berlanga experimented with to bite Angulo on the still left shoulder and then his remaining ear. The referee warned Angulo for punching powering the head, but didn’t reprimand Berlanga.
“He was throwing elbows. I was about to do a Mike Tyson on him,” Berlanga said when questioned about the incident in the postfight interview. “He held throwing his elbows, and I did not want to get reduce.”
The incident was related to Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield in their rematch in 1997, and the boxing earth reacted to it.
